Early Winter CSA 2017 Registration is open!

Greetings!

The Brooklyn Bridge CSA and Sang Lee Farms are offering a five week early winter vegetable CSA share with deliveries starting on November 21st, 2017 and running weekly until December 19th, 2017. Please read this entire email for all share details (pick up location is in DUMBO for winter share) and offerings.  Registration is on a first come first served basis.

The vegetables for each distribution are a mix of cool weather field harvested vegetables, greenhouse vegetables, and storage vegetables.  The expected 9-11 items per week may include: BRUSSELS SPROUTS . CAULIFLOWER . BROCCOLI . ROMANESCO . CABBAGE . BOK CHOY . HERBS . LETTUCE HEADS . SPINACH . KALE . ARUGULA . FALL SQUASH . POTATOES . SWEET POTATOES . KOHLRABI . DAIKON RADISH . RADISHES . TURNIPS . RUTABAGA . CARROTS . PARSNIPS . BEETS .  You can find last year’s share contents here.

Delivery days are on Tuesdays (see below) for 5 consecutive weeks, pick up in DUMBO. Cost information for all shares on registration form.  Sponsor shares and reduced-price shares available (see registration form for details).

Add-ons available:
Briermere Farms is offering a winter FRUIT share (5 deliveries of approximately 3 lbs. of apples each) and/or a CIDER share (5 deliveries of a half-gallon of cider each).

A CHEESE Share with fresh Goat’s, Sheep or Cow’s Milk Cheeses (5 deliveries of approx 6-8oz per week) from Long Island or Hudson Valley cheese makers.

Sang Lee Soup – The Soup share includes two 16 oz. vegan soups per week from the Certified Organic Kitchen at Sang Lee Farms. All soups are made at the farm with our fresh ingredients and homemade starters.
Soup Share Quantity: One share is two 16 oz. containers of soup per week

PLEASE NOTE: You must have signed up for a winter vegetable share to purchase fruit, cider, cheese, or soup shares.

Pickup Location:

We are not able to hold winter CSA distributions at our regular season location because of the change in delivery day. The DUMBO/Vinegar Hill CSA has agreed to combine deliveries with us at the following location:

St. Ann’s Warehouse (45 Water St) in Dumbo from 5:00-8:00 pm on the dates above.

Please Note: The Brooklyn Bridge CSA accepts subsidies to help provide access to vegetable shares to low-income families. CSA stands for community supported agriculture and we believe that everyone in the community should have access to quality organic vegetables. Your subsidy will go towards a vegetable share for a low-income family in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn.

Full and A week vegetable, fruit, cheese and ready-to-eat shares: 
Distribution will be Wednesday, 10/18, from 5pm – 8pm at First Presbyterian Church (124 Henry Street) Distribution will be, weather permitting, outside to the right of the church. If not, it will be in the front entryway of the church.

Please remember to bring your own bags and be mindful to take what is allotted for each share.

Last day for Fruit and Cheese shares is 10/25 for B week shares and 11/1 for Full/A week shares.

Registration for the BBCSA Fall Share, the last 10 weeks of the 2017 Brooklyn Bridge CSA season, is officially open. Register today! 

Sang Lee Farms is offering a Fall Share with limited availability (first come first served) and is only able to offer full veggie shares at this time (you pick up all veggie items every week).  They are opening the registration for the last 10 weeks of the summer season, pick ups start Wed, Sept 13.  Pricing and details are below – payment, by check only, is due by Sept 8 so please sign up asap to request your spot and send a check to secure it!  Your membership is not confirmed until you receive confirmation of payment.

The Details:

The Fall season will run from September 13 to November 15 for Vegetable shares.  Pick up is each Wednesday from 5pm-8pm at First Presbyterian Church, 124 Henry St, Brooklyn, NY.

Vegetables:
Vegetables come from our fantastic farmer Fred Lee at Sang Lee Farms, a certified organic specialty vegetable farm in Peconic on the North Fork of Long Island.  More info on 2016 share can be found here.
Cost:
10 Week Veggie Share: $333
The above pricing includes an $8 administration fee, and a commitment to volunteer (covering one shift over the course of the 10 week season).

CSA delivery #15 – A Week

Full and A week vegetable, fruit, cheese and read-to-eat shares:
Distribution will be Wednesday, 9/6, from 5pm – 8pm at First Presbyterian Church (124 Henry St.) Distribution will be, weather permitting, outside to the right of the church. If not, it will be in the front entryway of the church.

We are accepting registrations for a FALL SHARE for 10 weeks of pick ups from 9/13-11/15.  We have limited availability, can only sign up veggie shares for $333 for 10 weeks, and payment is by check only due Friday 9/8.  Please share with anyone you think would be interested!  Sign up here.
